The Kansas Scholastic State Chess Championship was held at Emporia State University on Saturday, March 14, 2026. Lincoln Central Elementary was represented this year by two players in the K-5 division. There were 90 players in the K-5 Section - Lane Ferguson medaled in 24th place. Eliza Jones medaled in 82nd place. Additionally, Coach Ryan Hizey was named Executive Director of the Kansas Scholastic Chess Association. Congratulations to all. Go Chargers!!!

Tonight five members of the Cherryvale charger band represented CMHS at the annual - Dale Casteel Symphony of Winds in a wonderful night of music with representatives from nine other area bands. Representing CMHS - Aubrianna Bennett, Brejaya Hopkins, Leah Wilson, Maddie McClelland, Remedy Hopkins. The Band is under the direction of Mr. Tad Lafferty. Go Chargers!
