On Tuesday, 5/5/25, Middle School students had the opportunity to participate in a Zoom meeting with noted children's and young adult, historical fiction author Lauren Tarshis. Tarshis has written the "I Survived" series which are some of the most popular books in the CMHS Learning Commons. Her topics include such historical events as the Holocaust, Pearl Harbor, 9/11, and the Joplin tornado among many others. She told students about her new book coming out in the fall which will be about the Dust Bowl and Black Sunday. Students learned about her writing process and about what it takes to become an author.
