What an amazing couple of weeks. We started with our CMHS Winter Choir Concert with an appearance by the Coffeyville Community College Choir. We ended this evening with the Lincoln Central 6th grade band and the CMHS Band in their winter program. What a bunch of talented kids. GO CHARGERS.







These 14 Cherryvale High School students had perfect attendance for the 1st semester. Congratulations Kenneth Blough, Reyce Booe, Logan Curtis, Mylee Dean, Lukas Elliott, Drayton Hill, Ezra Kelly, Brooklyn Lemons, Vance Perry, Jaxon Ruark, Caleb Slane, Conner Slane, EmmiLou Whittley, and Noah Wilson. The High School Basketball team closed out the Pre-Season tournament on Friday evening in Yates Center.
The Lady Chargers brought home 2nd place in the tournament, as they fell to Eureka 50-48 in the Championship.
The Charger Men brought home their first win of the season against Bluestem 57-16.

CMHS Announcements 12-15-2025.

Cherryvale High School hits the road this week to Yates Center for the Pre-Season Tournament. Last night the Lady Chargers came home with a victory over Olpe 50-44. The Charger men fell to Olpe 60-31.
They will return to Yates Center on Thursday as the Lady Chargers take on Neodesha at 3:30 and the men will face off against Madison at 5:00.

Saturday, December 6th Members of the CM/HS Chess Team travelled to Pittsburg to compete in the PCMS Chess Tournament. Members of the CMS Chess Team were lead by Jet Tracy (6-0, 1st), Shawn House (4-2, 12th), Tripp Vincen (4-2, 15th), and Jacob Holt (4-2, 19th). Others competing were Arthur McGrew (4-2, 23rd), Zadin Blake (3.5-2.5 26th), Gabriel Ohlrich(3-3), Tyson Ecret(2-4), and Grant Johnson(2-4). There were 83 students competing in the k-8 division representing 16 area schools. As a team this group finished in 2nd place with 18 points falling two points behind first place Pittsburg and a 1/2 point above 3rd place Frontenac.

Leah Wilson did a fantastic job representing CMHS today at the SEKMEA District Choir at Pittsburg State! Phenomenal day of music with other talented singers from SEK!


Cherryvale Middle School Boys and Girls basketball teams brought home the Gold medals today in the annual Cherryvale Middle School Tournament. Congratulations!

CMHS is proud to announce the students who were selected for the Kansas Music Educators Honor Choir.

The Family and Consumer Science program is fundraising for our Culinary Program and FCCLA organization! We are selling Rada Cutlery this year! Members of the CM/HS chess team competed Saturday, November 15th in Chanute. The team representing CMS finished in second place to Pittsburg Middle School by only 1 point. Leading and medaling for CMS were Zadin Blake who took first with a perfect 6-0 record, Shawn House who took third place with a 5-1 record, and Graig Edwards who took 13th with a 4-2 record. The fourth member of the team was Grant Johnson who went 3-3 in his first ever tournament. This was the largest k-8 tournament in the SEK region this year with 87 participants.
Representing CHS was Wyatt Starrett finishing in 14th place with a 3-3 record.

Proud to announce that several of our boys received All-League football nominations! Their effort, teamwork, and passion made a big impact this season. Congrats, gentlemen!

Winter practices will begin at CMHS on Monday, November 17th. Please see the attached flyer for when/where student athletes will need to be if they plan on participating. All athletes must have a sports physical on file before they can participate. They are encouraged to attend practices until they have met all requirements.
