Middle School track is underway and the athletes have competed in 2 track meets to date. The one thing more exciting than receiving those medals is when you see your name go up on the record board at school. Below are the current records that have been broken this season!
Girls
100M - previously held by Baylen Wood 14.79, broken not once, but twice with times by Scarlett Sprester of 14.28 and now the current record of 14.15
200M - previously held by Baylen Wood 30.5, broken by Scarlett Sprester twice with times of 29.94 and now the current record of 29.4
400M - previously held by EmmiLou Whittley 1:09.99, broken by Baylen Wood twice with times of 1:09.35 and now the current record of 1:07.77
3200M - previously held by Audra Martinie 17:21.58, was broken by Cheroke Whinery 16:06.31
Long Jump - previously held by Emma Grice 13'5.5" was broken by Baylen Wood with a jump of 14'2".
Javelin - previously held by Addy Boss 65'10" was broken by McKenzie Cobb 71'8.5" and then immediately broken at the same meet by Nala Hughes who holds the record with 73'9.5"
Boys
1600M - previously held by Harry Knight 6:23.59 was broken by Shawn House with a time of 5:59.23
3200 M - previously held by Brody Smith 13:22.65 was broken by Ari Hosier with a time of 13:17.80
100M Hurdle - previously held by Beau Marchant 18.20 was broken by Brody Smith with a time of 16.43
200M Hurdle - Keagan Kelley broke his prior record of 32.99 with a new time of 32.16
Triple Jump - previously held by Chandler Amberg 29'3.5" was broken by Keagan Kelley 29'7" and immediately broke by Brody Smith who holds the new record with a jump of 34'2.75"
Javelin - previously held by Brogan Miller 92' was broken by a mile by Hudson Fox with a throw of 101'10"
4x200 Relay - previously held by Amberg, Kelley, Catlin, Koscelny 1:58.16 was broken by Jaxson Cook, Harry Knight, Brody Smith, and Keagan Kelley with a new time of 1:54.20
