2026 Cherryvale High School Senior Spotlight. Go Chargers

2026 Driver Education Announcement

Come out and support the CMHS Drama students this week during their production of The Beauty and the Beast. Shows are on Friday evening at 6:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. Saturday at CMHS. Admission prices are $5 per Adult and $3 per kid.

Spring Sport Athletes will be receiving order forms today during practices for Pictures. Pictures will be taken on Wednesday afternoon by Kristy Hughes.


Seven members of the CMS Chess Team competed at the State Chess Tournament in Emporia Saturday, March 14th. As a team they finished in 8th place out of 28 teams with 14 points. Teams finishing in front of CMS included 5 schools from Topeka, Wichita, and Overland Park and two schools more our size of Hillsboro (6th with 14.5 pts) and Frontenac (7th with 14 pts). Individually the team was led by Zadin Blake and Anderson Jones both with 4-2 records medaling in 43rd and 47th place respectfully out of 200 competitors. Gabriel Ohlrich, Arthur McGrew, Shawn House, and Jacob Holt all finished with 3-3 records and Tyson Ecret finished the day at 2-4.

It was our annual pickleball unit this last week in middle school PE! We closed out the week with a big tournament. Fun end of the week to lead into spring break !

Poems were limited to 1 page entry, and poets were encouraged to write about how they feel about America, the history of America, and must be their own writing.

Charger Champs held their annual Unified Basketball game. What a game!! The choir sang, the band played, the cheerleaders cheered and the athletes played their hearts out. What a day to be a Charger.



Let's get ready to kick the spring season off next Friday in Chanute, where our Baseball and Softball teams hit the field for their Jamboree. Then on March 26th High School Throwers will open up at Caney followed by Middle School track on April 2nd.

Spring Practices are right around the corner! See the first day of practice schedules below. Team meetings have been held, so if your student did not attend, they will need to contact the coaches for more information. The High School Track team meeting will meet next week, before the first day of practice.
