On Sunday, the District Knights of Columbus Free Throw Competition was held in Coffeyville. These winners will advance to the Regional Competition on Sunday, February 15th in Chanute. Congratulations to our Chargers who represented Cherryvale!

The Lincoln Central Elementary chess team went and competed at the Pittsburg Community Middle School chess tournament this past Saturday, December 06, 2025. There were 11 teams and 83 players in the K-8 division. Lane Ferguson medaled and took 23rd place with 4 points out of the 6. Eliza Jones, Brynlynn Housel, and Kashtin Cook also competed with the team. Lincoln Central played hard and had a great day.
A post 40 years in the making - On this date in 1985, Steve Lain began working for USD 447 as a member of our custodial staff. Today marks the official anniversary of his start date all those years ago. Congratulations, Steve on your milestone and as the longest serving active member of the USD 447 staff! Thank you for all you do and have done for the Charger community for 40 years!

Body Venture visits USD 447 Cherryvale Thayer Schools: Elementary students from Lincoln Central and Thayer have a great opportunity to learn about the human digestive system and the importance of good nutrition and a healthy diet today. Thank you to all who volunteered to help with the exhibit today! Special thanks to USD 447 Food Service Director Gabriele Ecret for helping to bring the display to town for our kids! Go Chargers!
