Every year, we do a Mock Caldecott where we read and vote for books we think should win the Caldecott. The Caldecott is given out every year for excellent illustrations. This year our first place vote was "Home in a Lunchbox" and our second place vote was "Two Together". We also hold a contest to see who can design the Lincoln Central medal that will go on the covers of our winning books. Congratulations Blakely and Millie!
The Lincoln Central Elementary Chess Team from Cherryvale competed at the Royster Chess Tournament in Chanute, KS this past weekend. The Charger team took 2nd place honors! The Chargers will travel to Emporia State University this weekend to compete in the Kansas Scholastic Chess Association State Chess Tournament. The team is pictured with Coach Ryan Hizey.
