We would like to sincerely thank every business and family/individual that has joined our Flyer Fan Club this year. Your support for our students, staff, and school means so much to us! THANK YOU!
Next week is Red Ribbon Week. We are going to celebrate staying away from drugs with a spirit week!
Today we did some Fitness testing in PE. Working our core strength, students had to do a plank for as long as they could. The top boy and top girl both came from the 2nd grade. Benson Wall with a 12:12 plank and Hadley John with the highest score of every student 2nd-8th got 12:15. Very nice job to these students. Their arms and abs may be pretty sore now.
Congratulations to our middle school football boys on a great season! They finished with a win vs. Eureka 34-8!
The Lady Flyers are off to a great start as they defeated the 5 seed Bartlett in the first round of the MBL tournament today. They are currently warming up as they prepare to play Meadowview for the B bracket championship!
Congratulations to our first two treasure chest winners!

Congratulations to the Chargers middle school football team for their 6 to 0 victory over Neodesha tonight!
When you beat Neody you get Big Ed's! Thanks Steve and Betty Wheeler for treating these boys.
VB in Thayer:
Picture re-takes are scheduled for October 6th at 8:30 a.m.
Our junior high students have been busy in their Life 101 class to start the year with Mr. Dick and Mrs. Bogle!
They have already had the opportunity to help clean up and set up for our community’s Homecoming, give live speeches at more than 50 different local businesses for our school’s Flyer Fan Club, create resumes, learn how to fill out job applications, and begin working on their interview skills for different purposes they may encounter throughout life. They have even taken on a side project learning the basics of automotive wiring!
They now have the pleasure of learning from recently retired and former Thayer Flyer, Mrs. Betty Wheeler, who has volunteered her time to come in and teach a unit on finance. Students will be learning about economics, taxes, paycheck analysis, credit and debit cards, and many other important financial topics.
We are so thankful to have such a supportive community that is willing to share their time, knowledge, and experiences with our students. These opportunities allow our junior high students to learn practical skills that will benefit them long after they leave the classroom, and we are excited to continue finding ways to prepare them for life beyond school.

We were privileged to honor these three eighth grade volleyball players today: Emary Van Peursem, Maci Thornton, and Erin Kepley. They have been outstanding leaders for their team this season and we are so proud of them.
