4th/5th grade transplanted irises from Thayer Acres to our school today!

Our 8th grade has been doing some research on drugs/alcohol and the effects it has on your body in PE.
Today, Master Trooper Brett Goins, came and spoke to the class about what he sees on the day to day in his job and real life effects of drugs and alcohol, helping connect classroom knowledge to real-world consequences.
We appreciate Master Trooper Goins for his time and coming to share with the class.

After the rain settled in Neodesha, we ended up competing well in a beautiful setting for a track meet.

Many of our PreK-6th students competed in their first track meet ever. About 30 of our students are competing this year through our community's youth recreation. Congratulations to these competitors who had a lot of success while trying in something new.

Last night was such a great evening. Our students did an amazing job performing in band, choir, and "Bingo" the musical. In addition, we had an art show throughout the hallway and plants for sale in the shop that had been grown at our very own school Farm. Great night to be a flyer!

STUCO spent some time reading with Kindergarten today! First the Kindergarteners read decodable readers they have been practicing to their partner. Then, their STUCO partner read picture books to the Kindergarteners!

Mrs. Bogle and Mr. Dick's 6th and 7th grade classes got to enjoy a couple hours of an afternoon learning about fishing and their local lakes. Students are enjoying some outdoor activities and lessons to wrap up a great year soon.

Today was a great day in the Thayer Schools Cooking Club! 🍳👩🍳👨🍳
Our students had the opportunity to get hands-on in the kitchen, building real-life skills while having a lot of fun along the way. From learning proper kitchen safety and teamwork to trying out new recipes, it was awesome to see their confidence grow with each step.
We’re proud of the effort, creativity, and positive attitudes our students brought today. Opportunities like this help prepare them for the future while making learning exciting and meaningful.
Great job, Cooking Club—we can’t wait to see what you create next

Big thanks to Levi over at Big Ed's Steakhouse for sponsoring our communities first K-5th grade youth track team. A great former Thayer Flyer giving back to the community.

Making snails!

Our Thayer Middle School track team had a fantastic showing today at the Labette County meet!
The boys team put together an outstanding performance, finishing 2nd place overall—trailing only our partner school, Cherryvale Middle School (USD 447). Their effort, determination, and teamwork were on full display all day long.
We are incredibly proud of how all of our student-athletes competed and represented Thayer. Great job, Flyers!

Come join us!
