Celebration Day at CMHS was amazing. I am so proud of the leadership our seniors displayed and the willingness of all of our students to engage and move a little out of their comfort zone. Go Chargers.

CMHS New Teacher Spotlight I am Sarah Jones and I will be teaching choir for both middle and high school at CMHS as well as music classes at Thayer School. I am married to Seth Jones, a graduate of 447, and we have three children who attend school in Cherryvale: Anderson- 7th grade, Adelaide- 6th and Eliza-4th. Most recently I taught taught elementary music in Independence, Kansas, but but I have experience teaching all ages of music, from Kindergarten through high school, having taught in Herington, Overland Park, and Manhattan, Kansas. I grew up in Emporia, Kansas, and have degrees from both Kansas State University (GO WILDCATS!) and Emporia State University. We are big Wildcat fans, Chiefs and Royals fans, and of course love to watch our own kids in their sporting events and musical performances. I am so excited to be a member of the 447 team and am looking forward to helping even more students to create, explore and express themselves through music, all while helping to build a strong sense of community across our schools. I hope to see lots of students add choir to their middle and high school schedules- try something new!!

I'm Darian Kelly, and I live in Independence with my amazing wife and three wonderful children. When I'm not being active or hanging out with my family, I'm all about helping others and forming meaningful connections. In my previous role as a children’s case manager, I was dedicated to providing the support and resources needed for our youth to thrive. I'm super excited and extremely thankful for the opportunity to be part of the Charger family and to continue fostering those important connections. GO CHARGERS!!

Tri-Valley League would like to share a statement to all coaches, players, and fans.

Hey, I am Kandra Smith and I will be the new Assistant Principal/Activities Director for CMHS. My family and I are excited to join Charger Nation. We are coming from Oswego, where I have taught 1st, Preschool, and 3rd grade, and was the Activities Director. Prior to that, I was a Special Education Teacher with Tri-County, and I was a ropes course instructor and summer coordinator for Greenbush. My husband, Lance, and I have 4 children, Braeleigh (10th), Brianne and Brody (7th) and Brantley (2nd). When I'm not busy chasing my kids, I love a good adventure, finding new restaurants, or hunkering down at home with a good book or hosting my friends and their families. I am looking forward to this new adventure, and cannot wait to meet everyone. Go Chargers!

Sr Parking:
When: Saturday August 17
Time: 8:00 AM
First come First Serve
Needs:
I have talked with Newtons here in Cherryvale. This is the breakdown from them:
1 gallon top coat latex paint- any color-$ 48.00- You ONLY NEED 1.
?? quart size- any color- $12.00- as many as needed yo make your design
1-Cheap Brush, 1-cheap roller, 1-cheap roller tray- approximately $10.00
Do not need to purchase, but will help in the process:
1- 5 gallon bucket. You will mix your gallon of paint with 1/2 gallon of water to help cover a little better
We will provide:
Masking tape
Brooms
Leaf Blower
Sidewalk Chalk- to draw design to be painted
I have noticed a lot of Tik Toks with really good ideas and tips. Do a little research before you get here.
If it rains, we will still pick spots on the designated time and date. This does not all have to be done on the 17th, it is just a time that we can all get together and make it a "class" activity.
Just a reminder, part of your SR check out at the end of school, is that your spot needs to be returned to its original black state. So probably another $48.00 for a gallon of paint. Save your roller and tray for this activity.
Call the office if you have questions. GO CHARGERS.
