CMHS Announcements 3-/24-3/33


Congratulations to Charger Wrestlers - Chisolm Miller (157 lbs.) and Cooper Smith (285 lbs.) on being named to the 2024-25 All Area Boys' Wrestling Team by the Montgomery County Chronicle. Let's Go Chargers!

Members of the CM/HS Chess team competed at the State Tournament Saturday. Jamaal Mason, Wyatt Starrett, and James Sullivan represented CHS very well. Jamaal finished with a 4.5-1.5 record in 19th place, James finished with a 3.5-2.5 record in 58th place and Wyatt finished 3-3 in 79th place out of 165 students competing in the k-12 division. As a team they finished in third place (11pts) amongst the 3A teams behind Riley County (14 pts)and Wichita Collegiate(11.5pts).
Zadin Blake, Jacob Holt, and Anderson Jones represented CMS. All three finished with a 3-3 record finishing in the top 90 students out of 152 who competed in the k-8 division.

The spring talent show was held today at CMHS. What an amazing afternoon of students and staff stepping out of their comfort zone to entertain the student body. Great Job Chargers.

The CM/HS Chess teams went to Royster Middle School in Chanute, Saturday, for the last regular season tournament of the year. The four students representing CHS were Morgan Lasco, Jamaal Mason, Wyatt Starrett, and James Sullivan. As a team they finished in 3rd place in the k-12 division but only half a point in back of 2nd place Valley Center(5A). Individually Jamaal placed 4th with a 5-1 record, Wyatt placed 15th with a 4-2 record, and both James and Morgan went 3-3.
Representing CMS in the k-8 division were Zadin Blake and Anderson Jones. Zadin also went 5-1 on the day finishing in 4th place and Anderson Jones finished in 27 place with a 3.5-2.5 record. There were 74 students competing in the k-8 division and 50 students in the k-12 division. These students will compete for CM/HS at the Kansas Scholastic Chess Associations state tournament at Emporia State University this Saturday.
