We are so thankful to have staff in our schools who are always willing to step up and help wherever they are needed! We were short-staffed today for various reasons, and one person after another chipped in and helped however they could. Interim Superintendent Mr. Knight even showed up at just the right time and jumped right in to help us in the cafeteria this afternoon! It takes everyone working together to make our schools run smoothly, and days like today are a great reminder of the kind of people we are fortunate to have on our team. Thank you, everyone! We truly appreciate you!

Oh my, the school year is just around the corner and we are looking forward to having your child in our pre-school program. Plans are being made - do not miss out. Inquire at arehmert@usd447.org to apply for the 2026-27 school year. We would like to have all applications in as soon as possible toprocess and schedule screenings.

Free camp at NCCC:
Summer Weights is open to any incoming 7th grader through 12th grade. Weights are every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 7:30-9:00 a.m. beginning June 1st until the last week of July. Open gyms and team camps will follow. Transportation to and from Thayer will be provided and will return after open gyms conclude at 10:00 a.m. The bus leaves Thayer each morning by 7am.
If your child is playing a sport, please make sure they get in contact with the coaches for specific schedules and communication. We look forward to getting stronger and showcasing our summer work on the field and courts next season!

We capped off a fantastic school year by saying farewell to two longtime Flyers. Mrs. Welch retired after 25 years at Thayer Schools. Mrs. Frazier retired after 18 years here. It was fitting that these two went out together, as they had created a close friendship over the years. We are so very grateful for the impact they have made on so many over the years. Flyers forever!
Reminder: school is dismissed at noon today. Thanks for a great year!
Trenton and Lane, a couple of our jr. high students, had the opportunity to give a presentation on showing their pig and dog today to other students. Both students are active in local livestock shows and talked about how they present at a show, along with how they take care of their animals. We always love to see students also pursue their interests outside of the standard classroom.
Preschool visited the Kindergarten Classroom and frosted cookies today. Two fun days ahead!
