We'd like to welcome Mr. Lafferty to Thayer Schools!
Tad Lafferty is in his 7th year of teaching and brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to the classroom. He holds a bachelor's degree from Sterling College and a master's degree from Wichita State University. Outside of teaching, Tad enjoys performing with the Mid Continent Band during the summer and spending time on the disc golf course. He is also actively involved in children's ministries at his church, First Baptist of Independence.
Tad and his wife, Nicole, have three wonderful children: Elizabeth (6), Finn (4), and Cora (2), with a fourth child on the way. This school year, Tad is excited to continue building strong relationships with his students and to foster a love of learning in his classroom.

We'd like to welcome Mrs. Jones to Thayer Schools!
I am Sarah Jones and I will be teaching choir for both middle and high school at CMHS as well as music classes at Thayer School. I am married to Seth Jones, a graduate of 447, and we have three children who attend school in Cherryvale: Anderson- 7th grade, Adelaide- 5th and Eliza-4th. Most recently I taught taught elementary music in Independence, Kansas, but but I have experience teaching all ages of music, from Kindergarten through high school, having taught in Herington, Overland Park, and Manhattan, Kansas. I grew up in Emporia, Kansas, and have degrees from both Kansas State University (GO WILDCATS!) and Emporia State University. We are big Wildcat fans, Chiefs and Royals fans, and of course love to watch our own kids in their sporting events and musical performances. I am so excited to be a member of the 447 team and am looking forward to helping even more students to create, explore and express themselves through music, all while helping to build a strong sense of community across our schools. I hope to see lots of students add choir to their middle and high school schedules- try something new!!

We'd like to welcome Mrs. Bogle to Thayer Schools!
Hey! I’m Shannon Bogle, and this is my 25th year teaching middle school. I have spent the last 20 years at Royster Middle School in Chanute, KS teaching and coaching. Before going to Chanute, I taught and coached at Elk Valley in Longton, KS. I am so excited to teach Science and Reading for grades 6-8 in Thayer! I feel like I’m “coming home” as I attended Kindergarten through 12th grade at Thayer. I had an amazing experience and I want to give other kids the same opportunity. I have been married to my awesome husband, Matt, for 27 years. We have three children. Shayla is married to Caden Hayward, and they have blessed us with two granddaughters, Saylor and Dotson. Tyra is engaged to Parker Henson, and both are attending Pitt State. Thor is a freshman and attends Chanute High School. My family means the world to me, and I love spending time with them! In the mornings, you can find me outside overlooking the lake, enjoying my creamer with a little bit of coffee. Haha. My “several” cats and golden retriever, Koda, keep me entertained as well. I love spending time outside and mowing my yard. I grew up on a tractor, so my lawnmower is about as close as I get to driving a tractor, unless I go home to help my dad and mom on the farm. I’ve never felt more excited to start a new school year! I pray I can be a positive influence and role model to all those I come in contact with.
