The Lincoln Central Elementary Chess Team competed at the Royster Chess Tournament in Chanute this past weekend. The Charger team took 2nd place honors! The Chargers will travel to Emporia State University this weekend to compete in the Kansas Scholastic Chess Association State Chess Tournament. The team is pictured with Coach Ryan Hizey. Congratulations to Alyanna Barrager as she took home 4th place at the 3,2,1A State Wrestling Tournament in Hays, KS. After winning her first match, Alyanna lost her second, and battled hard Saturday to bring home the 4th place medal in the 100lb weight class. We are so proud of her accomplishments as a freshman this season, and can't wait to see her hit the mat next year.


Congratulations to Hope Van Peursem for winning the Neosho County Spelling Bee.
Hope is an 8th grader at Thayer Schools.

Monday March 3rd, all spring sports may begin practice.
High School Softball, Baseball, and Track and Middle School Track will begin Monday March 3rd after school.
Our two representatives for the Montgomery County Spelling Bee did amazing!!

Congratulations to the Lady Chargers who are moving on to the Semi-Finals in the 3A Sub-State Bracket. With a big win over Anderson County 56-24, the Lady Chargers will host again on Tuesday 3/4/25 at 7:00 p.m.
Congratulations to the Lady Charger Basketball Team who brought home a League Title Championship for the first time in school history! What a season it has been for the Lady Chargers, under the leadership of Head Coach Kelsey Overacker. Coach Overacker accomplished her 100th win this season as Head Coach, the Lady Chargers went on a 13 game win streak, and finished in Tri-Valley League standings 6-1 in League games, and share the title of Tri-Valley League Champions for the 2024-2025 Basketball Season.


Good Luck this Friday and Saturday to our Charger Wrestlers who are headed out to Hays to compete in the 2025 KSHSAA State Wrestling Tournament. Wrestling will begin at 9:00 a.m. on both days.

Due to road conditions still poor for travel in the morning and the extremely cold windchills called for Thursday morning, USD 447 schools will be closed on Thursday, February 20th. We are prioritizing the safety of our students and staff during these hazardous weather conditions.
