USD 447 Parents and Patrons,
Due to the forecast for the accumulation of heavy snow and extremely cold temperatures, we are informing you that all USD 447 schools will be closed on Tuesday, February 18th, and Wednesday, February 19th.
The safety for our students and staff during these hazardous weather conditions remains priority. Campuses will be closed with no school or activities. Please take all necessary precautions to stay safe and warm these next two days.

Rossville - The Lady Charger Wrestling Team is the 2025 Regional Runner Up! The lady chargers successfully qualified seven girls to participate in the state tournament in Hays! State Qualifiers include: Alyanna Barrager, Callie Collins, Alayna Collins, Ma'Kiah Collins, Tairyn Blocker, Brooklyn Shields, and Keagan Maupin. Congratulations to the entire team wrestlers, managers, and coaches! Best of luck at state! GO CHARGERS!!!
Last night five Charger band members represented CHS in the 2025 Dale Casteel Symphony of Winds. This honor band comprising 75 band students selected from across the region gathered to rehearse during the day and perform a wonderful concert in the evening for those lucky to be in attendance. Congratulations to Aubrey Bennett, Johnathan Conner, Kinsey Cook, Tatiana Hopkins, and Lizzy Landes for being a part of the honor band and representing CHS! Go Chargers!!!

Chetopa Ks - the Thayer MS Boys team capped off an undefeated season with a second consecutive Mineral Belt League championship for 2025. The Flyers defeated St. Paul 49-20 in today's championship game. Congratulations!
Erie KS - It was a great night of wrestling for both Charger wrestling squads. After a hard fought night of action, the boys and girls teams won the 2024-25 Tri-Valley League Wrestling Titles! Congratulations and best of luck as both teams prepare for regional wresting.

Congratulations to the Lady Chargers for winning the War on 54 Mid-Season Basketball tournament in Iola. Harmony John and Kadynce Forman made All Tournament First Team and Tatum Marchant who made All Tournament Second Team.
JV games scheduled for tonight, 1/31/25, against Bluestem are canceled. Order of play for tonight's games will be 6:00 Varsity girls followed by Varsity Boys.
Senior Night will begin at the conclusion of the Varsity Girls game.
January is school board appreciation month in Kansas.

6th graders from Lincoln Central competed at the Grade Level Chess Championships this past weekend at Chanute High School. There were 5 rounds for this tournament and 22 players total in the 6th-grade section. Below is how our students did and placed.

Thursday bracket update for the High School Mid- Season War on 54 basketball tournament.
Lady Chargers won 54-24 over Anderson County and will face Humboldt Thursday at 6:30 at Iola Elementary.
The Chargers fell to Anderson County 72-24 and will face off against Yates Center on Thursday at Iola Elementary at 8:00.

Early this morning, to start off 2025 winter homecoming Friday, members of the CHS Basketball and Wrestling teams welcomed students to school at Lincoln Central and Thayer to helped spread a bit of Homecoming Cheer! Way to go Chargers!
High School Basketball is traveling to Iola for the War on 54 tournament the week of January 21st. Attached is the bracket for the boys and girls. The chargers kick off the tournament with the girls at 6:30 on Tuesday v. Anderson County and the boys at 8:00 v. Anderson County.
