This week is National School Counseling Week 2024. School counselors are vital to helping our students with their mental health needs. Thank you for all that you do for our students and staff in USD 447!

Twenty-two of the 118 CMHS KAY Club members attended the Unit Conference for their area on Monday at Marmaton Valley High School in Moran, KS. Members had the opportunity to learn about the benefits of attending KAY Leadership Camp in the summer, were able to participate in a service project that benefited the Ronald McDonald House, and collaborated with other KAY members from the surrounding areas. Afterwards, members participated in a service project where they helped reorganize and clean at McKinley.
While at conference, members received some fancy signage to add to the outdoor classroom that Lincoln Central will have next year that was partially funded by the Be the Spark Grant through KAY Club. The club also realized at the conference that Cherryvale Middle-High School has the biggest club in our area! Go Chargers!

CMHS KAY Club Adopts a Soldier for Christmas
CMHS KAY Club felt compelled to support a local effort started by Francesca Coats, USD 447 Bus Driver, where shoeboxes are filled with toiletries, snacks, and other needed items to be sent to a group of troops that she has a unique connection to.
This group of a dozen soldiers are currently deployed overseas and her stepson and Cherryvale graduate, Michael Coats, is one of them.

Santa Clause came to Cherryvale Middle High School today. It is always amazing to see our students and staff get excited to see Santa. Thank you Jeff and Megan Menzer for the visit and the gift certificates for all 7-12 students. It was a Great Day to be a Charger.
