Cherryvale Middle School wrapped up the semester with AIMSWEB testing in Math. We had 28 students score a minimum of 10 points higher and range up to a 42 point increase. Great Job Chargers.


CMHS KAY Club Adopts a Soldier for Christmas
CMHS KAY Club felt compelled to support a local effort started by Francesca Coats, USD 447 Bus Driver, where shoeboxes are filled with toiletries, snacks, and other needed items to be sent to a group of troops that she has a unique connection to.
This group of a dozen soldiers are currently deployed overseas and her stepson and Cherryvale graduate, Michael Coats, is one of them.





Santa Clause came to Cherryvale Middle High School today. It is always amazing to see our students and staff get excited to see Santa. Thank you Jeff and Megan Menzer for the visit and the gift certificates for all 7-12 students. It was a Great Day to be a Charger.

The high school Varsity Scholars Bowl Team traveled to Bluestem on December 11th for a league meet. The team consisting of Walker Erbe, Kinsey Cook, Morgan Lasco, and Sam Cox earned 2nd place overall.


The past few weeks my 7th Grade STEM class has been learning some basic home wiring to finish our study of electricity. They learned how a breaker box works, how to wire a light switch, receptacle, and a switched receptacle. Go Chargers.



Mr. Lickteig’s Graphic Design class has been working to help make some of the windows more energy efficient while letting our Charger Pride shine out!


The Charger Channel sponsored a door decorating contest this year to help students and staff get in the spirit of the holidays. Each Advisory had an opportunity to join in the fun. Her are a few of the entries. Go Chargers.











Another successful day for the Charger Buddy Program that KAY Club has started as a partnership with Lincoln Central & the Pre-K Classes.

CMHS students attended a transformational vaping, drug, and alcohol presentation at Memorial Hall in Independence today. The "Vive18" dynamic presentation was sponsored by Independence Community College and many local schools attended.
Eight CMHS leaders stayed after to work with the presenters for additional support in promoting drug-free social gatherings.







The CHS choir had a wonderful showcase concert this evening in the CMHS Learning Commons. What a great evening for vocal music! Congratulations to Mr. Lafferty and students. Go Chargers!











Natalie Anderson placed 3rd overall in Freshman Prepared Public Speaking at the Neodesha Invitational. She worked hard writing, memorizing, and delivering a great speech. Congratulations Natalie! Go chargers!
