I am thrilled to share that not only did we have multiple Chargers compete in the Elevator Pitch Competition, our students earned some awards.
Brejaya Hopkins earned First Place and Leiam Jones was awarded Second Place.
Our students were phenomenal listeners, asked thoughtful questions, and exhibited great conduct at the event. They represented themselves and CMHS well. If you have any JAGK students in your classes, feel free to ask them about the event!
I am also proud to report that out of all the groups represented, we brought the most student attendees!

CMHS Theater Group presents its first-ever Spookeasy. Students in grades 7-12 can sign up to perform on Thursday, October 16th, in Mrs. Fosnight's classroom, beginning at 5:30 p.m.
Agenda for Friday night, October 17, 1975 State Runner Up Football team. We have around 20 people RSVPed for this event. Any other members that would like to attend, please do so. I won't have a shirt for you, but we would love you to be a part of the celebration. Go Chargers.
JV Football will now be playing Neodesha tonight, Monday Oct. 13, 2025, instead of Galena. The scheduled start time of 6:00 is still the same.

SNV students assemble the new greenhouse that was acquired by a grant written by the AG program from last year. Go Chargers
7th grade Into to Tech students have spent the last week building balsa towers. Today the got to test the strength of those towers by performing a compression test. Go Chargers.
Seniors and juniors that are interested in health related occupations had the privilege of attending Labette Community College Health Fair Day.
High School KAY Club had a ton of fun at their monthly meeting making Frankenstein rice krispie treats. KAY Club tends to focus on service, but team building and recreation time are important too. It was a great meeting with lots of laughs.
High School KAY Club Officers & Board Members recently attended Greenbush to complete their annual leadership retreat to plan for the year and work on team-building.
CMHS JAGK Officers are attending the JAGK Region 4 Leadership Development Conference at Butler Community College.

Every year, the Masonic Lodge 149 from Thayer, recognizes 1 teacher and 1 student from CMHS. This years recipients are: Randy Stoneking and Ashlynn Cook. Congratulations to both. Go Chargers.
Today at CMHS, we had the honor of having a representative from the organization Johnny's Ambassador on campus to discuss possible health issues related to THC, Vaping and Dapping. The guest speaker was Grace Davis who was a friend of Johnny Sack, whom the organization is named after.

Checkmate! The Cherryvale Middle School chess team started off their season by taking first place out of five other teams in the K-8 division at Fredonia Middle-High School on Saturday, October 04, 2025. Five members of the middle school team went to compete at the first tournament in the Southeast Region. Besides the team taking first place, the members of the team also took some of the top individual placings in the K-8 division which had 38 players total.

Blue & Gold will be arriving on Tuesday, October 7th. FFA Parents and students, you must pick up your Blue and Gold on Tuesday after school, between 3:36 pm and 6:45 pm.
Anyone who has ordered Blue and Gold from an FFA student, please do not come to the school to pick up your order. The student is responsible for personally delivering it to you.
